Pinterest Begins WooCommerce Partnership for Product Listing Expansion
The New WooCommerce Pinterest Extension
Pinterest has formed a cutting-edge alliance with WooCommerce, allowing the eCommerce platform's 3.6 million sellers to transform their product catalogues into Pinterest's shoppable Pins. This innovation is yet another way Pinterest makes it easier for online stores to use their platform to attract an audience and increase sales.
Pinterest has been gradually expanding its retail features, having a similar alliance with Shopify. In simplifying the process for lists of products to be made into buyable Pins, Pinterest can display more products, give more product exposure, and generate more ad spend from a wider group of sellers.
Until now, WooCommerce has mainly been a WordPress plug-in for eCommerce that enables WordPress sites to include a product showcase. Now, upon installing the WooCommerce Pinterest extension, these products will post on Pinterest, too. Each product displays as a shoppable pin, increasing exposure and sales opportunities.
The WooCommerce Pinterest extension has a variety of Pinterest features, such as catalogue ingestion and tag deployment. It also allows retailers to build and initiate ad campaigns through its interface. Selling is quick and easy. Upon installation, the extension uploads the complete WooCommerce product catalogue to Pinterest. As visitors search and browse for products to purchase, shoppable Pins will appear in their feeds. The WooCommerce Pinterest extension also keeps track of visitor interactions with these products shown on Pinterest. This way, merchants can monitor best-sellers or the most saved products. In addition, the extension automatically updates merchandise information like product pricing and availability.
As an extra bonus, WooCommerce sellers will have beta access to Pinterest API v5. This API provides additional ways to create experiences for Pin shopping that are viewable beyond the app.
During its second annual global ads summit, Pinterest Presents 2022, the company announced more shopping features for launch later in the year. Pinterest is increasingly becoming the ideal platform for merchants to locate new customers. With 97% of Pinterest shoppers performing searches with no brand in mind, their minds are open to purchasing brands such as yours. After Pinterest shoppers do make a buying decision, they purchase 40% more than those using alternate platforms.
